I Missed Days of My Trip After SunExpress Lost My Luggage on Diyarbakır–Düsseldorf Flight

On June 27, 2025, my family and I flew with SunExpress from Diyarbakır to Düsseldorf. Upon arrival, we waited for our luggage, only to be informed by German airport staff that our suitcase had been forgotten and never made it onto the flight. We were instructed to fill out a lost baggage form.

We had planned a 10-day European vacation and didn’t have accommodations in Düsseldorf—our actual destination was in Belgium. Our entire family’s clothing, medications, and personal items were packed into that one large suitcase, and it was missing. We were told it would arrive within two days. It finally reached us on the fifth day, by which point our itinerary was ruined and the stress had taken a serious toll.

SunExpress offered no proactive help or updates. We had to track the suitcase down ourselves, only to find it in a cargo facility in Germany. We had to rent a car in Belgium and drive all the way back to Germany just to retrieve it. The emotional and financial burden this caused was substantial. We were in a foreign country, unfamiliar with the language, and completely unprepared due to the missing baggage.

I am deeply disappointed by SunExpress’s lack of accountability and support, especially given how clearly preventable this issue was. I request full compensation for our financial losses and the ruined vacation, and expect a prompt and respectful response.
