Scribd Charged My Card $11.99 Without Authorization

On September 29, 2026, at approximately 4:18:24 a.m., my foreign-issued card was charged $11.99 by Scribd without my knowledge or authorization. I have never signed up for Scribd, started a free trial, or authorized any subscription. Despite this, the fact that a payment authorization was placed on my card has raised serious concerns about the security of my card information.

I contacted my bank on the same day I noticed the transaction. I was informed that the transaction was currently pending authorization and was expected to be posted to my account. I specifically informed my bank that this charge was not made by me and had occurred without my permission.

I request that Scribd immediately cancel and fully refund the unauthorized $11.99 charge. I also request that any subscription or membership that may have been created using my name and card information be terminated immediately and that my card information be completely removed from your systems. For the security of my card, I ask that this matter be investigated urgently and that I receive written confirmation of the outcome.
