Scribd Charged Me $11.99 After I Thought My Free Trial Was Still Active

Due to my confusion about the schedule of the free trial period I started in the Scribd app, a subscription fee of $11.99 was charged to my account without my knowledge on May 14, 2026. While reviewing my documents, I believed that I was still within the free trial period, and I had no intention of continuing with a paid subscription.

As soon as I noticed the situation and realized that money had been taken from my card, I immediately canceled my subscription on the same day and sent an email to the support team explaining the issue. However, my refund request was denied on the grounds that I had viewed documents during the trial period. As a law student, this amount is a significant financial burden for me and was entirely caused by a timing mistake.

I will not continue using the service, and since I already canceled my subscription immediately, I kindly request that my case be reconsidered as a goodwill exception and that the charged amount be refunded to my card.
