Salomon X Ultra 5 Developed Odor and Heel Damage in Six Months
I purchased a pair of Salomon X Ultra 5 shoes, size 10, from an SPX Olgar store. About three months after purchasing them, the shoes began developing a strong and persistent odor. By around six months of use, the inner heel lining started coming apart, with noticeable tearing and damage inside the shoe.
Because of these issues, I returned the shoes to the store on June 5, 2026, for a warranty inspection. However, I later received a written response stating that the problems were not caused by a manufacturing defect, and my warranty claim was denied. I strongly disagree with this conclusion. It is unreasonable for a premium outdoor shoe to develop a severe odor and experience this level of wear and tearing in such a short amount of time. I do not believe these problems are the result of normal use.
I am requesting that my warranty claim be reviewed again through a thorough and objective inspection. I would like my shoes to be replaced with a new pair under the warranty. After paying a premium price for these shoes, I did not expect them to develop a persistent odor, have the interior lining come apart, or suffer heel lining damage within months of purchase. I believe these defects should be covered under the product warranty, and I ask Salomon to stand behind the quality of its products by providing an appropriate resolution.
