Rivian’s Glitchy Software Made My Premium EV Experience Frustrating and Unreliable
Having a Rivian has thrilled me, but the software has been annoying. Although the car itself is remarkable, the onboard technology seems unfinished. Frequent problems have included touchscreen freezing mid-drive, which makes it difficult to use navigation or change settings. Often unable to identify simple commands, the voice command system causes me to pull over to make hand corrections. Although they should resolve these problems, software updates either show fresh faults or arrive late. Given Rivian's tech-driven reputation, I expected a far more sophisticated experience. Reliable software should be standard at the premium price rather than a continual experiment. Before adding further functionality, Rivian has to give stabilising their system top priority.
