On January 16, 2025, I booked a rental car through https://www.rentalcars.com/ to pick up at Frankfurt Airport. I paid ₺8,237.34 (€221) as the rental fee, and according to the website, the rental company was supposed to charge me a €900 deposit.
However, when I arrived to pick up the car, the rental company charged me €772 instead of the expected deposit amount. I contacted Rentalcars customer service to clarify the issue, but they insisted that the extra charge was due to my trip extending into Belgium. This is completely false. There is no mention of any cross-border fee in the contract or invoice.
Upon reviewing the invoice, I noticed that €72 was incorrectly charged. Rentalcars only paid €191 to Weego (the rental company), even though I had already paid €221, leaving a €30 discrepancy. Additionally, €42 in tax was added, resulting in the €72 overcharge.
Nowhere in the contract did it state that I would be charged extra taxes or cross-border fees. I demand that Rentalcars contact Weego and arrange for my €72 refund immediately. This charge is unjustified, and I expect a prompt resolution.
