Renault Megane Air Conditioning Gas Problem
I am the owner of a 2021 Renault Megane 1.3 Tce EDC 28,000 km vehicle (first owner). I took my vehicle to Izmir Ermat Authorized Service on 18.06.2025 because the air conditioner was not blowing cold. As a result of the necessary inspections, it was determined that there was condensation in the air conditioner gas since the air conditioner had not been used for a long time, gas had to be filled and a fee of approximately £ 130 was requested. However, I reported that my vehicle's warranty was still valid and that it was not normal for gas to condense and run out in a car that is not even 4 years old and is used at least 5 days a week in a hot place like Izmir, Turkey, where the air conditioner is on for most of the year. As a result, this was not user error and no action was taken despite my request for my grievance to be remedied. I was quite surprised that Renault did not stand behind its vehicle and even the Service Manager stated that even though I had driven it for 4 years without filling gas, it was too much. So, as those who own these vehicles, should we pay £ 130 every year and fill gas? I have encountered other problems in the last 4 years, but I did not pay much attention to them because they are possible problems in every car. As a result, I regret choosing Megane and extending the warranty, and I am thinking of selling my car as soon as possible. Those who are thinking of buying a Renault car should think again.
As of today, Renault Headquarters and Ermat Authorized Service jointly resolved this issue, which I believe I was right about, and remedied my grievance free of charge. Just as we point out mistakes, we should also acknowledge correct behavior. I would like to thank Ms. Berfin at the headquarters and Ms. Havva Gül at Ermat Authorized Service for their attention.
I thank everyone involved for providing a solution.
