I own a 2023 Renault Clio with 18,000 km on it. On July 10, I took it to Zamanlar Automotive service in Antalya, Turkey, because it was leaking water from the front right side. They told me it was just sweating from the heat and sent me away without any action.
Two weeks later, I returned because the floor of my car was filled with water. I dropped it off for service on July 24, expecting repairs. The car was in service for 7 days, and when I got it back, they presented me with a bill of ₺70,336. The proposed repairs included:
Heater box: ₺15,986
Air conditioning insulation seals: ₺6,263
Antifreeze: ₺1,258
Center console trim: ₺5,662
Air conditioning circuit: ₺1,522
Distribution box: ₺846
Glove compartment cross member: ₺9,646
Protective wax spray: ₺714
Airbag control unit: ₺507
Carpet removal and installation: ₺4,230
Interior oxidation cleaning: ₺5,076
Interior waxing: ₺5,076
Interior drying: ₺13,536
In total, they charged me ₺70,326. I felt victimized by this situation. I decided to take my car to a local mechanic. I was present while the mechanic inspected the vehicle, and he confirmed that none of the 13 issues they listed were present. Everything was in good condition, and the water leak was simply due to a misaligned air conditioning drain hose.
I paid ₺2,000, and the issue was resolved.
