I am the owner of a 2024 Renault Austral GSR1 (phase 1 – small multimedia screen), which I purchased in Aydın on August 6, 2024. During the purchase process, the vehicle was marketed heavily as a “technology leader” with “connected car” features; however, throughout my usage, I have observed serious neglect and regional discrimination against users in the Turkish market regarding multimedia software and system updates. While vehicles in Europe with the same hardware level and GSR1 structure receive regular updates addressing speed limit warning improvements, system stability, and wireless connectivity fixes, vehicles in Turkey—despite supporting these features—are deprived of such updates, and authorized services respond that no current version is available. Meanwhile, issues such as connection drops and screen freezes persist, even though these problems are known to have been resolved through updates released in Europe. For nearly a year, both authorized service centers and Renault Mais have claimed that the vehicle infrastructure does not support these updates, yet identical models produced in the same year and sold in Europe continue to receive them, making this explanation unconvincing and damaging trust in the brand. As a global company, Renault’s practice of limiting software support based solely on geographic location negatively impacts both user experience and the vehicle’s resale value. According to after-sales service regulations, providing software support for a technological product is the responsibility of the manufacturer and importer, and the failure to offer improvements available in Europe to users in Turkey clearly reflects a deficiency in after-sales services. I request that all software updates and improvements provided in Europe be made available to Renault Austral GSR1 users in Turkey without discrimination, and that my vehicle receive all relevant updates; otherwise, I will pursue my legal rights through appropriate official authorities if equal service conditions are not ensured.

I own a Renault Austral GSR1, and I have been waiting for a solution for a long time because vehicle software updates in Türkiye are not on par with those in Europe. The authorized service and Renault Mais say that the updates are not available, yet the same model is being updated in Europe. This situation has disappointed me, and I am not satisfied.
