I Reported Harmful Reddit Communities But No Action Was Taken

December 30, 2025 12:39 PM1

While using the Reddit platform for a long time, I have repeatedly come across content that I believe creates a dangerous environment that could normalize or encourage child exploitation. In particular, I frequently see adult-content posts using words such as “high school,” “teen,” or similar expressions in their titles, and I believe this type of language may encourage people with harmful intentions toward minors.

Even though I reported several of the subreddits containing this type of content directly through Reddit’s reporting system, no meaningful action appears to have been taken. The posts and these kinds of titles are still accessible on the platform.

I expect urgent and serious action not only from Reddit but also from the relevant public authorities regarding this issue. I believe Reddit should immediately remove these kinds of titles and posts, shut down communities that repeatedly allow such content, and strengthen moderation against material that may contribute to the normalization of child exploitation.

I also believe that the relevant authorities in Türkiye should carefully examine digital content that may create risks related to child safety and take the necessary legal and administrative steps where appropriate.
