PhotoGrid Free Trial Turned Into Annual Subscription Without Warning
On 03/04/2026, I clicked on the free trial option in the PhotoGrid mobile application. However, without seeing any confirmation screen, clear information, or warning, an annual subscription was automatically started and approximately $40 was charged to my phone bill/account. I absolutely do not accept that simply clicking on an option presented as a “free trial” could directly turn into a yearly subscription and result in a payment being taken without my explicit approval.
What makes this situation even more disturbing is that I had not even logged into a PhotoGrid account when these transactions occurred, yet a subscription was somehow activated and charged anyway. The payment was processed through the App Store, and my Apple ID account is registered under either [email protected] or [email protected].
I contacted PhotoGrid by email regarding this issue and also submitted a refund request through Apple. However, Apple rejected my refund request, while PhotoGrid never responded to my email at all.
Because of this misleading process presented under the name of a free trial, I request that the approximately $40 charged from me be fully refunded and that my subscription be canceled immediately.
If this issue is not resolved, I will file complaints with the relevant official authorities and pursue legal action if necessary. I have also seen many similar complaints from other users regarding charges collected under so-called “free trial” offers, so this is clearly not an isolated case affecting only me.
