PayTR Payments Delayed Up to 14 Days and Commission Rates Reach 6%
I would like to warn businesses considering working with PayTR to be especially careful regarding payment periods and commission rates so that they do not fall into the same trap. They attract businesses by promising next-day payments and a 2.99% commission rate; however, in our experience, this is completely misleading. Together with the companies we partner and work with, we are preparing to take this matter and the relevant advertising materials to CİMER and apply to the competent authorities to request an investigation and appropriate action against the company. Although statements such as “payment after 1 day” are prominently presented during the application and promotional processes, our experience as Coderbeach as a merchant for approximately the past year, as well as the experiences of the companies we work with, clearly shows that payments are by no means regularly made after one day. Collected amounts are often held for one week and, during some periods, for up to 14 days. A business being unable to access the money from its own sales for days, while also having substantial commissions deducted, creates a serious cash-flow problem and clear financial harm. Another important issue is that they sometimes block payments from customers whose projects we have successfully delivered and hold those funds for 2–3 weeks. The work has been delivered without any problems and the customer is satisfied, yet when we call PayTR, we are told that the funds are being held for inspection and security purposes and will be transferred to our account as soon as possible. Despite this, we still have funds that have not been paid for approximately 1.5 years. In order to continue receiving our new payments, we effectively feel forced to remain silent about the money that is locked inside. The commission side is equally disappointing. Initially, they mention rates such as 2.99% and collect information and documents from businesses. Afterwards, citing our business model, we are informed that our settlement period will be between 7 and 9 days, while the effective rates we actually encounter rise to around 5.5–6%. At these rates, PayTR has become one of the worst price-to-performance options in the market from our perspective. There is a serious difference between the rates presented in advertisements or during initial discussions and the actual costs businesses ultimately face, resulting in clear financial harm to businesses. For the reasons explained above, I demand that all delayed and unjustifiably unpaid amounts be paid to us immediately without further excuses, that commission rates and payment periods be brought in line with the conditions promised during the promotional and sales stages, that misleading advertising and sales practices be ended, and that a detailed written explanation regarding all of these matters be provided.
