I own a 2022 Opel vehicle, and I recently noticed paint peeling in two spots on the front hood—caused by nothing more than bird droppings. I immediately contacted Opel Customer Service (0850 399 6735) and requested assistance, hoping the issue would be covered under warranty given the car is still fairly new.
After reviewing the case, Opel's technical committee responded saying the damage was not due to a manufacturing defect, and therefore, they refused to take any responsibility or offer support.
It’s unacceptable that a 2-year-old car can lose value over something as minor and common as bird droppings, especially when a brand like Opel should be providing higher durability and support.
I will now pursue legal action to hold Opel accountable. A quality car should not suffer this type of damage so easily, and no customer should be dismissed so quickly. Opel must either fix the paint issue or compensate for the reduced value of my vehicle.
