Nvidia Driver Update Broke 200Hz Support on My Casper Monitor
I am testing my Casper Excalibur EG75FH monitor and RTX 5070 graphics card using both HDMI and DisplayPort connections. When I connect the monitor through HDMI, I can receive the correct resolution and refresh rate without any issues. The display works smoothly at 1920x1080 resolution. However, the moment I switch to DisplayPort, the refresh rate drops to 60Hz, there is no option to increase it, and the image quality and resolution become noticeably worse.
My computer was recently built, and I know my system can easily handle high refresh rates at 1920x1080 resolution. My monitor is also a model that supports 200Hz at 1080p. This issue only started after I updated to the latest graphics driver through the Nvidia application. Before the driver update, I was not experiencing any of these problems. Since the update, no matter what I try, I have been unable to fix the issue.
I believe the problem is not related to the Casper monitor itself, but rather to Nvidia’s software or graphics driver. I request that Nvidia investigate this issue, resolve the inability to use high refresh rates at 1080p over DisplayPort through a driver or software update, and provide me with a clear technical explanation regarding the cause of the problem.
