I purchased the Nike Air Force 1 ’07 White Black model sneakers from the Nike store at Meydan Istanbul in March or April. In less than 7 months, I began experiencing serious problems with the shoes. Both pairs developed tears in the inner back and side lining, the front parts started to split, and the upper sections cracked. The sole also began to wear out and looks like it might tear soon. I have faced similar issues twice before.
I took the product back to the store for inspection and requested an exchange. However, my request was denied, and I was told the problems were due to “user error.” When I spoke with customer service, they said the inner lining tears were caused by wearing and removing the shoes, which I accepted. But they also claimed the splitting at the front, cracking, and sole wear were user-related, dismissing my complaint. In reality, I only wore the shoes for walking—no excessive or unusual use.
Even though the product is under warranty, I cannot accept these issues being labeled as user error. I demand that my product be replaced. Since I don’t currently have the shoes with me, I cannot provide photos, but I will resubmit them for inspection as soon as they are returned to the store. I will closely follow up on this process. No one spends over 5,000 TL on a pair of shoes expecting them to turn into trash within 6 months. If necessary, I will take this to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and pursue a resolution there.
