Netshort Popul Charged My Credit Card Without Authorization
I discovered a charge on my credit card that appears to have been made through Google Play by a company called Netshort Popul. On September 4, 2026, I saw a $13 charge in my digital banking app with the description “Google *netshort Popul London GB.” The transaction details indicate that the charge was for a short-form video service.
I do not have any Netshort Popul app installed on my phone. There is also no subscription or payment record associated with this company in my Google Play account. Despite this, the charge was made to the credit card linked to my phone line. Since there is no record of the transaction in any of my accounts or systems, I am effectively unable to provide the documents being requested.
When I contacted Turkcell customer service, they told me that the transaction was unrelated to my phone line and that they could not assist me with the issue. However, I do not accept being charged through the credit card linked to my phone line for a transaction I neither authorized nor approved, especially when the app is not installed on my phone and the transaction does not even appear in my Google Play records.
I request the immediate cancellation of this transaction, which appears to have been initiated by Netshort Popul, along with any related subscription; a full refund of the unauthorized $13 charge; and a thorough technical and security investigation to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
