We canceled our tickets through Mytrip, and on July 5th, I received an email stating that the refund should be processed within 5 days. This deadline has passed, including the weekend and an additional 2 days, yet the refund has not been received. When I contacted Mytrip's customer service today, I was informed that they processed the transaction, but the bank is withholding the payment due to currency conversion requirements for foreign companies, causing a delay.
Upon contacting my bank, Yapı Kredi, I was told that Mytrip needs to initiate a new refund request for accounting processing, as they had no record of the refund. Now, Mytrip claims again that they processed the refund on the 5th. However, where is the money, and whom should I believe? Mytrip says they did it, but the bank states the refund was not approved. The refund I have been waiting for a week is nowhere to be found, and no one has any information. Neither party takes responsibility but shifts the blame to the other.
I don't understand why there are always such issues with refunds while services are paid for immediately. It's frustrating that a simple matter is not handled properly. I cannot wait for another nine days for my refund; I have other commitments and cannot afford to wait.
