MSC Fantasia Cruise Marred by Multiple Service Problems

Our trip aboard the MSC Fantasia from May 17 to May 26, 2026 significantly reduced our overall satisfaction due to the many negative experiences we encountered. We stayed in balcony cabin 10208, and the problems we faced from the very beginning had a serious impact on our vacation experience.
On our first day aboard the ship, our luggage was not delivered for several hours, and we had to search for our suitcases ourselves in front of different cabins in order to locate them. When we first entered our cabin, we also found that the cleaning and maintenance standards were inadequate. Personal belongings left behind by previous guests, rotten food remnants under the sofa bed, and a forgotten power bank were extremely concerning from both hygiene and safety perspectives.
We were frequently disturbed by staff members speaking loudly in the cabin corridors. We also experienced communication problems with some employees at Guest Services and Il Cappuccino Bar, where we encountered rude and unhelpful attitudes rather than a solution-oriented approach. We were left with the impression that there were not enough staff members compared with the number of passengers on board. Long queues, insufficient service capacity, and the negative attitudes of some employees toward guests all had a significant impact on our overall experience. We also experienced considerable difficulty reaching staff members responsible for Turkish-speaking guests.
When we reported our complaints to the staff, we felt that, instead of focusing on permanently resolving the problems, they were attempting to close the matter by offering small gifts. Being faced with so many issues in an enclosed environment far from land, where we had no practical way to leave the ship, created a serious sense of insecurity and disappointment for us.
This was our first cruise experience, and because of everything we experienced, we do not currently intend to choose MSC Fantasia again in the future. Our family members who traveled with us and who have extensive previous cruise experience also canceled their upcoming trip planned on the same ship. We expect MSC to consider a concrete and meaningful form of compensation and to take the issues we experienced seriously. We are sharing this feedback in the hope that it will contribute to improving service quality and guest satisfaction.
