My Michelin CrossClimate 2 Tires Lost Traction on Wet and Dry Roads Within a Year
I purchased Michelin CrossClimate 2 (all-season) tires, 2024 production, 17th week, trusting the Michelin brand’s reputation for quality. However, in less than a year, I started experiencing serious traction issues on both wet and dry surfaces. The car slips frequently, especially on inclines where it spins out, and in the rain it slides dangerously, even though the tread depth remains good.
Since I bought my car secondhand, the invoice for the tires remained with the previous owner. Despite the 2024 production date clearly visible on the sidewall, both Michelin’s authorized service center and customer support refused to assist me, stating they cannot process a warranty claim without an invoice. A tire specialist in Ankara inspected them and confirmed that the rubber compound has hardened, causing the tires to lose grip completely.
It is unacceptable that tires costing ₺6,000 each (₺24,000 total) have deteriorated this badly in such a short time. I am deeply disappointed that a brand like Michelin refuses to take responsibility for a product that is clearly defective and still under warranty based on production date.
I request that Michelin inspect these tires immediately and resolve my issue under warranty. If no action is taken, I intend to file a formal complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee and publicize the issue on social media.
