Mercedes S-Class Brake Rotor Problem Keeps Coming Back

June 17 3:40 PM1

I own a 2021 Mercedes-Benz S 400, and I have been experiencing a recurring brake rotor vibration/warping problem that has become a chronic issue. Approximately one month ago, the brake rotors were replaced under warranty. However, after only a short period of use, the exact same problem returned, and for the past 10 days I have once again experienced severe brake vibration. After a hard braking event, the brake rotors begin to vibrate almost immediately, creating a serious loss of confidence in the vehicle's braking performance and safety.

I brought the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz Bostancı Batı Oto, where I was told that the issue had been discussed with Mercedes-Benz headquarters and engineering teams. Despite these discussions, no permanent solution has been provided. Based on my experience, I do not believe this issue is unique to my vehicle. I have also owned and driven an S 580 in the United States, where I experienced the same brake rotor problem and had the rotors replaced there as well. I have been driving Mercedes-Benz S-Class vehicles for more than 15 years, and I have encountered similar brake rotor issues on multiple vehicles. If this were caused solely by my driving style, I would expect the same problem to occur with my other vehicles, yet I have never experienced comparable brake issues with other brands.

The service center continues to attribute the problem to "external factors." However, I find that explanation difficult to accept when the same driving conditions affect only my S-Class vehicles. I also believe there may be differences in manufacturing quality between brake rotors supplied from different sources, as some sets have lasted approximately 40,000 km, while others developed the same issue after only 3,000–5,000 km. My vehicle has not been driven through deep water, subjected to unusual impacts, or otherwise exposed to conditions that would reasonably explain premature brake rotor failure.

At this point, I believe Mercedes-Benz should seriously investigate this recurring issue rather than dismissing it as driver-related. I request that Mercedes-Benz conduct a thorough engineering review of this apparent recurring brake rotor problem, provide a permanent technical solution, and continue covering the necessary repairs under warranty without placing the burden on customers. I also ask Mercedes-Benz to formally investigate whether this issue affects other S-Class vehicles and to address it through an appropriate engineering or product improvement if warranted.
