I noticed that money was being attempted to be withdrawn from my account by the Meitu application, which I had only downloaded and used briefly through Google Play. I never started any subscription, never entered my card information into the app, and never approved any paid membership. However, on December 9, 2025, while trying to make another purchase, I realized there was a pending authorization charge of approximately $42 on my Halkbank Paraf credit card under the name “Meitu.” Simply installing the app on my phone should not result in a charge of this size, and I do not accept this transaction.
I had already deleted the Meitu application from my phone before noticing this issue. Despite that, I later discovered that a subscription appeared to have been activated through Google, so I immediately canceled it as well. I also contacted Google Play customer support by email and am currently waiting for a response. Seeing a pending charge on my card despite never subscribing, never giving approval, and never entering my card details has made me feel extremely unsafe and financially distressed.
I demand that Meitu and Google Play immediately cancel any memberships or subscriptions connected to my account, if any exist, and ensure that absolutely no payment is withdrawn from my card. I also request the complete cancellation of this pending authorization transaction. In addition, I want a clear written explanation regarding this unauthorized activity and expect the necessary security measures to be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future.
