Lenovo Tablet Stops Charging Under Warranty but Repair Is Denied
I purchased a Lenovo TAB 10 tablet approximately two months ago through Trendyol under order number 10770860223. One day, the tablet suddenly stopped charging and became completely unresponsive. Since it showed no signs of life, I contacted the authorized service center and sent the device to them.
Afterward, I was contacted by the service center and informed that the motherboard had burned because the tablet was allegedly used while charging, and that I would need to pay approximately $120 USD for the repair. I do not accept this explanation or the claim of user error, as the device had no water damage, no drops, no cracks, and no external impact of any kind.
I originally purchased the tablet for about $92 USD, and the fact that it developed such a serious malfunction within just two months, combined with being asked to pay a repair fee that is higher than the product’s purchase price, has caused me significant inconvenience and frustration. In addition, being asked to pay approximately $39 USD just to have the device sent back to me is completely unfair and unreasonable.
The product is only two months old and still under warranty, and I do not believe it is appropriate for the defect to be blamed on the user and for such high charges to be imposed. I request that Lenovo and the authorized service center either repair my device free of charge under warranty or treat the product as defective and issue a full refund. Otherwise, I clearly state that I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and exercise my legal rights.
