MediaMarkt Refused to Replace My Defective Jabra Elite 3 Under Warranty
My Jabra Elite 3 earbuds developed two hardware issues during the warranty period: the sound volume became significantly lower in one earbud, and the microphone began producing static noise during calls. Since the product was still covered by its warranty, I returned it to MediaMarkt on May 13, 2026, for warranty service. I originally purchased the earbuds in 2024 for approximately $27.
After the service inspection, I was informed that the product could not be repaired. Because MediaMarkt no longer had the same model in stock, I was offered only a refund of the original purchase price, approximately $27, based on what I paid in 2024.
I do not consider this solution to be fair. Due to the significant increase in prices since 2024, the original purchase price is no longer sufficient to buy the same model or an equivalent pair of earbuds with similar features. While the defective product remains at the store, MediaMarkt continues to insist on refunding only the original purchase amount, leaving me at a substantial financial disadvantage.
I attempted to handle the return process through the MediaMarkt Maltepe Piazza store in Istanbul, while the product was originally purchased from the MediaMarkt Hilltown store in Istanbul. The case is documented under reference numbers T072-38824-R-C and 18758491. I have also contacted Jabra Global Customer Support regarding this issue and submitted an application to the Consumer Arbitration Committee. With only about two months of warranty coverage remaining, I am particularly disappointed by the prolonged handling of this matter and by a resolution that fails to provide meaningful consumer protection.
To resolve my complaint fairly, I respectfully request either:
A replacement with an equivalent product offering features comparable to the Jabra Elite 3, or
A refund based on the current market value of an equivalent replacement product rather than the original purchase price.
I ask MediaMarkt to provide a reasonable and equitable solution that prevents me from suffering a financial loss as a result of a product failure that occurred during the warranty period.
