2018 Hyundai Elantra Transmission Seal Leak - Out of Warranty Repair

My 2018 Hyundai Elantra, diesel, automatic, with 75,000 kilometers, has been out of its 5-year warranty for 11 months. However, it is unacceptable for a car with 75,000 kilometers to leak transmission oil from the seal. The repair center was unable to explain the problem and indicated that the item was defective; however, because the warranty had expired, they refused to replace it. They asked for ₺33,000 from me to replace the defective part. I'm calling out Hyundai, Hyundai Assan, and Hyundai Korea for any loss of life or property damage in a traffic collision caused by this mistake. Hyundai is accountable for all accidents, financial losses, and emotional distress caused by their refusal to stand behind the faulty part.

Attention: Chung Ju-yung, CIO of Hyundai

In November 2023, I purchased a 2018 Hyundai Elantra diesel automatic with 69,000 km, which I was very fond of. However, the vehicle is actively leaking transmission oil from the seal, putting my family's and my safety at risk.

I reported this issue to Hyundai Assan both in writing and by phone. They directed me to Hyundai Coşkun Plaza, a dealership I'm familiar with. The dealership confirmed the transmission oil leak and noted that this malfunction is causing problems with the clutch (flywheel) set and gear shifts.

After Coşkun Plaza verified the issue and reported it to Hyundai Assan, I was quoted a repair cost of approximately $1,000. However, my transmission has never been disassembled before, and all parts are still original factory components.

I'm requesting that the defective part be replaced or repaired without cost to me, given that this appears to be a manufacturing defect in an original part.

I still haven't received a response from Hyundai regarding the transmission seal issue with my 2018 Hyundai Elantra. They said that the customer satisfaction department would call, but there has been no one reaching out to address or inquire about the issue. I am complaining about Hyundai for not taking responsibility for the defective part of their brand.

I call out to all Hyundai officials, CEO, R&D manager, R&D manager, spare parts production manager and all officials above the Hyundai logo. I noticed it at 75,000 km and I'm asking about the transmission gasket that started at the previous km, why does a vehicle with 75,000 km and older leak oil from the transmission gasket and do I need to replace this gasket every time? Before 75,000 km? Show me a similar vehicle at the authorized service and explain why Hyundai does not protect the faulty part when there are so many representatives. I would like to speak to a senior Hyundai official...

No authorized representative of Hyundai, symbolized by its logo, has engaged in solution-oriented communication. Is this what customer satisfaction policy means? Is this what it means to not stand by the Hyundai brand? Is this what it means to not take responsibility for defective or faulty parts under the obligation? Is this the irresponsibility of a brand with billion-dollar investments worldwide? It's a shame for the Hyundai brand to show such worthlessness, to not take responsibility, and to not prevent potential accidents that could result in loss of life or property. I condemn the Hyundai brand and all its officials.

I own a 2018 diesel automatic Elantra with 75,000 km. My car's warranty expired 11 months ago, and all maintenance has been performed at Hyundai Ata. However, because the previous owner did not take the car for its annual maintenance before reaching the mileage, my car is leaking oil from the transmission differential seal, which is a defective part from the factory. Hyundai is using the excuse that the previous owner did not take the car for its annual maintenance to charge me 33,000 TL to replace their defective part. They are asking for a complete fee for the transmission seal oil and clutch set.

Why should I pay for Hyundai's defective part? The defect is the factory's responsibility, and they should cover it to ensure customer satisfaction. My car has only 75,000 km; why is it leaking oil from the transmission seal? In the event of an accident caused by this issue, Hyundai is responsible for any loss of life and property. I am announcing this to all authorities and the public.

If you acted and focused on solutions like you did when responding to this complaint, we would be devoted to Hyundai, but your approach and conversations are not solution-oriented; you are just making things more difficult.

There has been no response from Hyundai regarding my grievance. The brand is not taking responsibility for replacing the faulty product and part. I would like to speak with an authorized person about this matter, focusing on a solution.
