Issues with Pigeon Valley Stone Hotel Booking on Hotels—Unsuitable and Overcharged
I booked a stay at Pigeon Valley Stone Hotel via Hotels in July. After seeing several complaints about both the hotel and Hotels' service, I wanted to cancel, but they refused. Instead, I rescheduled my stay to October 26-29. My wife, three-year-old child, and I arrived on October 26 and stayed one night. The hotel was far from child-friendly—so much so that I had to request a mop and bleach to clean the floors myself. The following morning, the owner informed me that children weren’t accepted at the hotel. I pointed out they should have notified us of this policy earlier, and we decided to check out. However, we were told we’d be charged a minimum 30% fee or had to pay for one night's stay.
The hotel lacked even basic amenities like trash bins, felt like a repurposed house, charged for water, and wasn’t clean. When I went back to retrieve our things, a manager from another hotel mentioned that Pigeon Valley Stone was already fully booked, leading me to suspect they pushed us out to make room for guests at higher rates. I urge others to avoid this hotel for these reasons—poor service, unclean conditions, and dubious practices.
