Grok Free Trial Turned Into an Unauthorized Yearly Subscription

I am writing to report a serious subscription issue involving the Grok – AI Chat & Video app on iOS, which resulted in an unauthorized yearly subscription attempt and has left my Apple ID payment settings effectively locked.
In May 2026, I signed up for what was clearly presented as a 3-day free trial within the Grok app. However, instead of only starting the free trial, the app initiated a yearly subscription for TRY 12,999.99, even though I never intended to purchase or authorize an annual plan.
On May 22, 2026, a yearly invoice for TRY 12,999.99 was generated. Within approximately 30 minutes of starting the trial, I noticed the issue and immediately canceled the subscription through my Apple account. Although the subscription now appears as canceled, the TRY 12,999.99 charge remains as a pending transaction.
Because my card does not have sufficient funds, the payment has not been completed. However, Apple continues to treat the amount as a pending balance, which has effectively locked my Apple ID payment settings. As a result, I cannot remove my existing payment method or add a new virtual card. My bank has also confirmed that it cannot intervene because the payment remains pending on Apple's side.
I have already contacted both Apple Support and the Grok app support team, explaining that I only intended to use the 3-day free trial and never authorized the annual subscription. Despite my reports, I have not received any meaningful response or resolution from either party.
I respectfully request the immediate cancellation of the unwanted yearly subscription, the complete removal of the TRY 12,999.99 pending charge from my Apple account, and the restoration of full access to my Apple ID payment settings so that I can manage my payment methods normally again.
I also request that this subscription flow be investigated, as it appears misleading and caused me to become enrolled in an expensive annual plan that I never intended to purchase.
