We reserved a bungalow at Sapanca Four Seasons Hotel for two nights starting September 27, paying a ₺5,000 deposit. Although check-in was available after 2 PM, we arrived around 7 PM due to work. Upon arrival, we were shocked to see stink bugs on the windows, floors, and even in the jacuzzi. The staff attempted to clean the place with a vacuum and assured us it would be fine after spraying insecticide.
Despite our initial concerns, we decided to give it a chance. However, when we returned after dinner, the bungalow was completely overrun with bugs—on the couches, curtains, ceiling, and everywhere else. The insecticide had seemingly drawn out even more bugs. The place was entirely uninhabitable, and we couldn’t even bring our belongings inside, let alone stay there. My 5-year-old daughter didn’t step foot inside and now calls it the “bug house.”
We immediately informed the owner, explaining the situation and requesting at least a partial refund of our deposit. The request was denied. This was not a case of us canceling for personal reasons; the bungalow was simply unsuitable for accommodation. Our two-day plans were ruined, and we feel cheated.
Sapanca Four Seasons, this is unacceptable. Provide a resolution and refund our deposit for failing to deliver a habitable stay. Future guests should be warned about such conditions before booking. We will pursue our rights through all available means.
