On 12 February I took my Ford Focus automatic vehicle to Akıncılar Ford private service due to high temperature. Although I clearly stated that, based on my research and observations, the car was not losing coolant, the temperature dropped when I lifted my foot from the gas pedal and I suspected false overheating, they insisted that the head gasket was burnt and that the gasket had to be replaced. Trusting their professional opinion, I paid ₺95,000 for this operation. My vehicle remained at the service for about a month. During this time they did not answer my phone calls, and whenever I went there in person they tried to increase the price by saying that there were additional costs and changed the amount. On the day they said the car was ready, I took delivery, but after driving only about 20 km, the vehicle again gave a high temperature warning and shut itself down. I took it back to the same service, where it stayed for another 10 days. This time they told me that the entire electrical system and the transmission needed to be changed and demanded an additional ₺200,000. Before I took the car to this service there was no problem with the transmission, but after their intervention my automatic transmission now does not shift properly and I cannot put the gear lever into the R reverse position. In other words, despite the high amount I have already paid, my vehicle is in a worse and unusable condition than before. At this stage I have initiated a legal process. In addition, when I contacted Ford, I was told that private services are not within their area of responsibility. However, I share what happened here so that others who are considering going to this service can see my experience and are not victimized in the same way. My clear expectation from Akıncılar Ford private service is that all the damage they have caused should be remedied, that my vehicle should be restored to its previous proper working condition without any additional charge, and that all unjustified payments I have made so far, including the ₺95,000 gasket fee, should be fully refunded, and that any additional repair costs that have arisen due to their fault should be covered by them.
