FlyOne Charged Me an Unexpected Airport Check-In Fee Without Warning

On October 25, 2025, I chose FlyOne for my flight from Chisinau Airport to Istanbul. I arrived at the airport approximately five hours before departure and proceeded to check in my baggage about two hours before the flight. At that point, I was unexpectedly informed that I had to pay an additional check-in fee of approximately $34.
I had never been notified about this charge in advance. No email, text message, or other form of communication informed me that I would be required to pay an extra fee to complete the check-in process. As a result, I was placed in a difficult position at the airport with no practical alternative but to pay the amount requested.
My reservation number is AYHE6K. I have traveled with many different airlines over the years and this is the first time I have encountered such a practice. Because I was traveling from Moldova and needed to board my flight, I had no realistic opportunity to contact customer service or dispute the charge before departure.
I believe this fee was unfairly imposed due to the lack of prior notification and transparency. Had I been properly informed, I could have taken the necessary steps in advance or made a different travel decision.
I request a full refund of the check-in fee that was charged at the airport. I also believe that other passengers should be clearly informed about such charges before travel so they can avoid similar experiences. I encourage FlyOne to improve its communication practices and provide greater transparency regarding all mandatory fees associated with its flights.
