I recently purchased a product from overseas and paid €175 for the item, plus shipping costs. When the package arrived in Turkey, it was held up in customs.
FedEx directed me to a company called Medtria, which demanded ₺25,000 in customs clearance fees for a ₺6,500 product! This is an exorbitant and unacceptable amount.
Naturally, I wanted to return the product and contacted FedEx again. This time, they directed me to another company called TNT, which demanded a €100 fee plus shipping costs to return the item.
In total, the customs clearance and return fees would be nearly equal to the cost of the product itself. This is completely unacceptable.
I have made many international purchases in the past, but this is the first time I have encountered such a ridiculous situation. I am extremely disappointed with FedEx's customer service and lack of transparency regarding customs clearance fees.
