Fakir Refused Warranty for Hypo Clean Water Purifier Despite Repeated Defects

The Fakir Hypo Clean water purifier I purchased was replaced under the defective product policy after experiencing the same issue (water leakage) three times. However, when the new device showed the same problem, they informed me that the warranty had expired and that service would only be provided for a fee. The service fee they quoted was ₺3,600, while the same product was being sold online (on Hepsiburada) for ₺2,600 that same day. In other words, the official Fakir service in Pendik demanded ₺1,000 more than the product’s price for repairs. I submitted a detailed application to the Istanbul Provincial Consumer Arbitration Board, including all relevant documents. After a long wait, I finally received their response. The key part of the decision, which I am sharing here, states that the Fakir Hypo Clean water purifier does not fall under the category of "products required to be sold with a warranty certificate" as per Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection. Therefore, my complaint was rejected by the arbitration board. This is the situation. I am sharing this as a warning to other consumers so they won’t face the same issue. Regards.
