FaceApp Unauthorised Charge For "Free" Trial
I installed FaceApp on my Android device and signed up for the 7‑day free trial on 11/04/2026 using my Google account. On the same day, I cancelled the subscription via Google subscriptions, well before the trial period ended. Despite this, I was charged $50 AUD on 13/04/2026. After noticing the charge, I applied for a refund through Google, but my request was rejected and the support I received there was not helpful. I contacted Google support again on 23/04/2026 and, since the issue was not resolved, I also sent an email to FaceApp today to explain the situation. I clearly cancelled the free trial on the day I started it, yet I was still charged the full subscription fee. I request a full refund of the $50 AUD that was taken and confirmation that my subscription is fully cancelled so that I will not be charged again in the future.
Received this very generic response from FaceApp after I emailed them, basically not addressing the issue and explaining to me how to cancel and request a refund via Google Play - even though it was clearly explained in the email I had done all this but was still charged. They basically won't accept any accountability.
