Emirates Offered Only $53 for Severely Damaged Luggage on Dubai–Istanbul Flight

I traveled on Emirates flight EK121 from Dubai to Istanbul on October 19, 2025. Upon arrival, when I collected my baggage, I noticed that my suitcase was severely damaged: the body was partially crushed inward, and both the carrying handle and the pull handle were completely broken. I immediately reported the issue to Emirates representatives at the airport, photographs of the damaged suitcase were taken, and the required reports were created under reference numbers ISTEK12893 and ISTD2596183. Despite declaring a suitcase value of 150 Euro, Emirates offered compensation of only $53. This offer does not reflect the true value of my suitcase and does not adequately compensate for my loss. My requests for either a replacement suitcase or a higher compensation amount were rejected. I have been waiting for a resolution for approximately ten days and have been in continuous email communication with customer service during this period. Each time, I was informed that the offer could not be revised and that a replacement suitcase would not be provided. I am requesting that Emirates compensate my loss by offering a payment that is closer to the actual value of my damaged suitcase.
