Emirates Damaged My Luggage During Transfer and Told Me to Wait 6 Months for a Response

On May 12, 2024, I flew with Emirates from Poland to Angola. During the transfer, my suitcase was damaged and even tagged to indicate it. When I landed, I immediately reported the issue to the baggage damage desk. After taking photos of the suitcase, the staff told me I could leave without filling out any paperwork. I had work obligations and didn’t want to waste more time, so I left my phone number and trusted them to follow up.

Two weeks passed—no calls, no emails, no updates. I visited the Emirates desk again and re-sent all necessary documents by email. This time, they told me the investigation could take up to six months. Six months, just to evaluate a damaged bag? And in the meantime, I’m expected to continue traveling with a broken suitcase?
