Dyson V10 Tube Latch Broken Despite Light Use and No Free Repair Offered

The tube latch on my Dyson V10 vacuum cleaner is broken. I have owned the product for about 6 years, but since we also have a robot vacuum, we have used the Dyson V10 quite rarely. If calculated based on once-a-week usage, the total actual usage time is roughly equivalent to about one year. Despite this limited use, the latch breaking—combined with many user comments suggesting this is a common issue with this model—gives the impression that the product has a manufacturing defect.
During my call with Dyson customer service today, I showed the issue via video, but I was only offered a paid replacement part, with no alternative solution provided. The serial number of my product is ZE7-EU-PBR0982A, and I can provide the invoice and product images if requested.
I do not accept being charged for a part failure that appears to be a known, recurring issue. I request that my Dyson V10 vacuum cleaner be repaired free of charge. Otherwise, I will file a formal complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee to have this matter officially reviewed.
Dear Customer, Thank you for the feedback you shared with us. Your satisfaction is very important to us. Rest assured that we will handle the matter with sensitivity. Our support center representative will contact you as soon as possible to provide assistance. Sincerely, Dyson Turkey
Hello, you contacted me but refused to acknowledge your chronic problem and demanded payment. I have filed a complaint against you today with the Consumer Arbitration Board. While a simple solution could have been found, you will now have to bear a much larger cost.
