De’Longhi EC9255.M Warranty Rejected Over Unproven Power Surge

In November, I purchased a De’Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo EC9255.M espresso machine from Beymen for my summer house. The machine was only used a few times. When I returned in May, it was working perfectly. It was always plugged into a grounded, surge‑protected power strip that also powers a microwave, kettle, a Tchibo coffee machine and other appliances, none of which have had any problems. After about a week of completely normal use, the espresso machine suddenly stopped turning on. We tried multiple outlets, but the result was the same. On 25.05.2026, I contacted De’Longhi and was directed to an authorized service center in Manavgat, Antalya. The service center stated that the main board had failed due to a power surge and that this would not be covered under warranty. I strongly disagreed because the machine had been barely used, there was no misuse, and all reasonable electrical protection measures were in place. Later, I was informed that the main board had been repaired and that I needed to pay ₺6,000. When I contacted De’Longhi, I was asked for the service report number, but no report had been provided to me at that time. After I explicitly requested it from the service center, a report was then created and the cause was recorded as “high voltage damage”. De’Longhi rejected my warranty claim based solely on this report. My question is what concrete technical measurement or evidence proves that a power surge caused this failure. No voltage report, electrical inspection or any supporting documentation has been presented to me. If a main board failure during the warranty period is not covered, it is unclear to me what the warranty actually covers. The most disappointing aspect is not the technical fault itself, but the way the warranty process has been handled. I request that this case be reviewed again, that the decision be evaluated objectively based on clear evidence rather than assumptions, and that the repair of my machine be covered under warranty or that I be offered an appropriate solution without charging me ₺6,000.
