I used the Colgate Triple Action toothbrush for the first time yesterday. When I went to use it for the second time today and applied toothpaste, I was horrified to see that the bristles began falling out on their own. After wiping off the toothpaste and rinsing the brush, nearly all of the bristles started shedding in clumps. I have a video recording clearly showing the entire bristle-shedding incident and will provide it as evidence.
My main concern is that I used this toothbrush yesterday, and given the excessive shedding, there is a high likelihood that I may have swallowed some of these synthetic bristles. It is absolutely unacceptable for an oral hygiene product to have such a manufacturing defect and directly put a consumer’s health at risk. A toothbrush that sheds bristles inside the mouth, creating a risk of ingestion, constitutes a dangerous and unsafe product that threatens consumer safety.
For this reason, I am exercising all of my legal rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including replacement with a defect-free product or a full refund. I believe this product is clearly defective and unsafe, and I demand that this matter be resolved immediately.
Specifically, I expect the following:
Immediate recognition of the seriousness of this health risk and urgent contact from your company.
An official, science-based explanation regarding the potential health effects of ingesting these bristles.
A thorough investigation and necessary quality control measures to prevent similar risks for other consumers.
If I do not receive a prompt, satisfactory, and concrete response regarding this serious issue, I will escalate the matter—with video evidence—to the appropriate consumer protection authorities and relevant regulatory bodies. I also reserve all legal rights, including seeking compensation for any potential health damages.
Given the seriousness of this matter, I expect an urgent and transparent response.
