On December 23, 2022, I got some filler injections for my cheekbones and temples at a beauty center where I've had a bunch of other procedures done before. By January 17, I noticed some swelling in my left cheek that eventually turned into a noticeable bulge along my jawline. I quickly informed the center, and the owner, who happens to be a doctor, recommended a month-long treatment of oral corticosteroids. But the treatment didn't work, and the swelling didn't go away, so I decided to go to a private hospital's dermatology department in Nişantaşı for help.
The ultrasound results indicated a strong possibility of filler migration, as the diagnosis mentioned the presence of a "foreign body granuloma in the soft tissue." I showed the report to the doctor at the beauty center, who didn't think it was likely but wanted to examine me anyway. No matter how many times we tried to plan a visit, she was always busy or had to cancel at the last minute.
On January 29, 2023, I went overseas for work for a month, but unfortunately, the swelling didn't get any better. After I got back, I reached out to the doctor once more. She let me know that she was on vacation, but recommended a simple procedure when she came back. On April 14, 2023, I decided to get another opinion at a state hospital. The doctor there mentioned the possibility of filler leakage, although it seemed to be less severe than what was mentioned in the previous report from a private hospital.
Even though I told the doctor at the beauty center about my situation and clearly stated that I wanted the dissolution procedure, she said she wasn't available and out of the office. It's been a whole year since the procedure, and although there has been some improvement, the swelling just won't go away, which has left my face looking uneven.
I got two medical reports and had back-and-forth communication with the doctor for four months, but my concerns were completely brushed off and I never got a call to come in for an examination or treatment. After being a dedicated customer for five years and even recommending others to the center, I am extremely disappointed with this dismissive attitude!
