On April 15, 2025, around 12:50 PM, while driving my Chery Tiggo 7 Pro on the Bursa ring road, I was hit on the front right side by a VW Caddy that lost control and pushed my vehicle into the guardrail. Due to the impact, I couldn’t stop in time and also collided with a Mercedes E-Class in the far-right lane.
Here’s what’s truly concerning: my Tiggo 7 Pro was the only vehicle in the crash whose airbags didn’t deploy. The VW Caddy struck me at around 120 km/h, and after the first impact, I hit the barrier from the front left side as well. Despite this multi-angle collision, none of my airbags—not the driver’s, not the passenger’s—went off.
After calming down, I inspected the damage at the İnallar authorized service center. The front panel was visibly bent, and I could clearly see that the area around where the airbag sensors are typically located (just behind and around the dashboard) had suffered deformation. How is it possible that this level of structural damage didn’t trigger the airbags?
This is a serious safety concern, and I’m demanding a detailed explanation from Chery and the authorized service team. My life and the safety of passengers were put at risk, and I expect a transparent investigation and report on why the airbags failed to activate during such a significant crash.
Until this is resolved, I will be informing other Chery owners and potential buyers about my experience. Our lives depend on these safety systems working when they should. I sincerely hope this issue is addressed immediately and taken seriously. Stay safe out there.
