I tried using Character.ai, and I immediately became concerned about how invasive it is. Right from the start, it began asking for sensitive personal details like my full name, surname, and even my physical address. I found this completely unnecessary and extremely suspicious for a chatbot app.
In terms of privacy and data safety, I believe this app is far from secure. I didn't feel comfortable providing that level of personal information just to have a conversation with an AI. If it had gone any further, I would have seriously considered taking legal action.
No one should be forced to give up personal data just to use an app. I strongly urge others not to download Character.ai and to warn friends and family to stay away from it as well. The developers need to be investigated by cybersecurity professionals immediately. This kind of data collection is unacceptable and potentially dangerous.
