I am writing to complain about unauthorized charges made by Hint America after I completed what was clearly advertised as a free IQ test on their website. I never agreed to any paid subscription, yet I have been charged $29.99 twice over the last two months, in April and May, for a total of about $60. The subscription page I later found mentioned an amount of $6.99, not $29.99, and I did not knowingly sign up for any subscription at all. Despite that, Hint America continued to charge $29.99. These charges were taken via Cash App, which is linked to my iPhone, and the payments appear under the name “Hint America”. To make matters worse, the Cash App account is not even mine; it belongs to my friend, so these unauthorized charges have caused problems and embarrassment in addition to financial harm. As soon as I noticed the issue, I found a subscription under my account and cancelled it immediately. I also tried to reach Hint America with complaints, but I have received no response, no assistance, and no explanation. I did not get any email notifications about the subscription or the charges. I am currently homeless and have very limited funds, so losing around $60 in this way has put me in a very difficult situation. I request a full refund of all unauthorized charges taken in April and May, as well as written confirmation that any and all subscriptions or recurring payments connected to my account, device, or Cash App are fully cancelled and will not be reactivated. I also expect an apology for the lack of clear information, the higher-than-stated charges, the use of a payment method that is not even mine, and the failure to respond to my previous complaints.
