Carwiz Rent A Car Withheld €600 Deposit for False Damage Claim Despite Full Insurance
On August 8, I rented a Dacia Sandero from Carwiz Rent A Car at Pristina Airport for one week. After returning the car, I was informed that my €600 deposit would not be refunded due to alleged damage to the bumper and under the wheel. However, this information was only communicated to me on September 10, when I asked about the refund status, with no prior notice for an entire month. During the rental, I had purchased full coverage insurance through Discover Cars by paying an additional fee. Despite this, the deposit was withheld for damage that did not belong to me. Initially, my IBAN details were requested, and later a contract I had signed along with their own prepared breakdown was sent, stating that the deposit would not be refunded because of the claimed damage. Even though I paid €600 as a deposit and also for full coverage insurance, I was left victimized without any clear explanation. Today, I also applied to Discover Cars for a refund of my deposit under the full coverage insurance. I demand an urgent resolution of this issue, the refund of my deposit, and that my grievance be remedied.
