CapCut Charged Me During a Supposed Free Trial on Google Play
On Wednesday, June 17, I opened the CapCut application on my Android phone and saw an offer through Google Play that advertised a “1-week free template export trial.” Based on this description, I decided to try the service and started the trial subscription.
However, without seeing any clear warning or payment notification, I discovered that approximately $6 had been charged to my Akbank debit card almost immediately after activating the trial. The charge occurred within roughly two minutes of starting the subscription, long before I had the opportunity to use any part of the advertised one-week free trial period.
Because the offer was presented as a free trial, I did not expect any immediate payment to be collected. If a charge was going to be applied, I believe it should have been clearly disclosed before the subscription was activated. The fact that the payment was taken so quickly, despite the service being described as free for one week, was both unexpected and confusing.
As soon as I noticed the charge, I canceled the subscription on the same day. The CapCut account associated with this subscription is registered under Mu***************@gmail.com**.
I request a full refund of the approximately $6 charged to my Akbank debit card. Since the subscription was advertised as a free trial, was canceled immediately after the charge was discovered, and was not meaningfully used, I believe a refund is justified. I also request clarification regarding why a payment was collected during what was presented as a free trial period.
