On July 4, 2025, my client purchased a brand-new BYD Seal U EV Design, zero kilometers, directly from the dealership. Upon delivery, the protective film was removed from the multimedia display — and it was immediately clear that the screen had visible surface defects, including scratches and marks. This issue was present from the first moment of use, indicating a hidden manufacturing defect.
This is entirely unacceptable for a vehicle marketed and sold as brand new. According to Article 8 and subsequent clauses of Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection, it is the seller’s legal obligation to deliver a product free from defects. In this case, the car qualifies as a defective good, and we are reserving all legal rights under the consumer’s options for defective product remedies.
We formally notify BYD Türkiye that we will initiate legal proceedings if this defect is not addressed immediately. A defect like this in a newly purchased car is both a violation of consumer rights and a major disappointment for the buyer, who expected premium quality and flawless condition.
BYD, we request you to resolve this issue without delay, take accountability for the manufacturing flaw, and restore consumer confidence. We expect your full cooperation and swift corrective action.
