We recently purchased a Bosch dishwasher, and after installation, we ran the first empty cycle as instructed. However, during that initial run, the machine emitted an extremely strong plastic smell that spread throughout the house. I want to know if this is considered normal for a brand-new appliance or if it indicates a potential defect.
The intensity of the odor was concerning, and it didn’t seem like something that should happen with a premium product like Bosch. If this is not expected behavior, I request that the necessary inspection or servicing be arranged as soon as possible.
