I am absolutely outraged and deeply disturbed by my recent experience with Booking.com and a property listed as "Orlando Hotel" in London. On May 30 and June 9, 2025, I made two separate reservations (one for a single night and another for nine nights) through Booking.com for this so-called "hotel." My confirmation numbers were 4302059708 (PIN 9414) for the May 30-31 stay and 4788154683 (PIN 1368) for May 31-June 9.
When my mother and I arrived, there was no reception or welcoming staff whatsoever. What we found was not a hotel, but a regular house with rooms seemingly converted into hotel accommodations. The place was incredibly unhygienic, with toilet paper and towels strewn on the floor, and the entire building was clearly under construction.
The main door was wide open, with zero security measures in place. Male construction workers were freely entering and exiting the building. My mother and I felt incredibly uncomfortable and completely unsafe. The first people we encountered were these workers, not any hotel staff.
After about 30 minutes, a woman claiming to be Moroccan and introducing herself as the receptionist arrived. She informed us our room was in the basement. The basement room she showed us was appalling: dark, airless, and bore no resemblance to the photos on Booking.com. Crucially, my reservation provided no indication that the room would be in the basement.
I have photographic and video evidence to support all of these claims. I also have serious doubts about whether the woman who greeted us even had a work permit. This was not just misleading advertising; it was a deeply distressing and dangerous situation.
Due to these appalling conditions, we absolutely could not stay at this property. We were forced to pay out of our own pockets to secure another hotel, completely ruining our vacation. We were subjected to a very unsafe and uncomfortable experience.
Therefore, I demand a full refund for both of my reservations. If Booking.com fails to provide this, I will initiate legal action and seek both financial and emotional damages. This was not merely a disappointment; it was a traumatic experience. As two women, staying in an unsecured building with male construction workers freely roaming and no proper reception or security was simply not an option.
Booking.com, you must address this serious issue immediately and resolve it without delay.
