I Got a ‘Card Declined’ Error on Booking.com Despite My Card Working Perfectly

We made a hotel reservation in Greece through Booking.com, and everything seemed fine — until we suddenly received a "your card has been declined" message. The problem is, there was absolutely nothing wrong with our card. Both the bank and credit card provider confirmed that the card was fully functional and that no transaction attempts were blocked or failed from their side.
We tried to get help immediately, but that turned into a nightmare. There was no way to reach Booking.com, and the hotel also didn’t respond to our attempts to contact them. We were stuck in a foreign country with a reservation hanging in limbo and no real-time support from either party.
What’s worse is that Booking.com continues to accept reservations from Turkey, yet they offer no working Turkish customer service line. If you encounter an issue — even something as urgent as payment failure before check-in — you’re left completely on your own.
I expect Booking.com to acknowledge this issue and stop ignoring customers in Turkey. Either provide proper support or stop taking our bookings. I also demand clarification on why my valid card was declined and compensation for the stress and disruption caused.
