Bne Sim Charged $18 for an eSIM That Never Worked
On January 7, 2026, I purchased an eSIM package through Bne Sim (bnesim_TR) for use in Thailand, and a total of 879.93 TL was charged to my credit card. The payment appeared on my statement as “billing @bnesim.com,” and my customer number is 5609069**. However, the eSIM package I purchased did not work at all.
I tried to install the eSIM by following the instructions in the app exactly, but I received the following error message on my phone: “Unable to add – Could not open a channel with the root security domain. Subject code: 2200 – Reason code: 14.” I then contacted customer service through live support and provided both the error message and detailed information about the steps I had taken. I clearly explained that I had already followed the instructions in the app exactly, that the problem remained unresolved, and that I therefore wanted to cancel the service and receive a refund because I had been completely unable to use it.
The live support representative asked me to repeat the steps I had already taken, but I continued to receive the same error and the connection could not be established in any way. Even though I again explained that the problem could not be resolved, that I had been unable to use the service, and that I wanted a refund, I eventually stopped receiving responses to my messages and the conversation appeared to have been abruptly cut off.
Although I was completely unable to use the service I purchased, I request that the 879.93 TL charged to me be reviewed under my customer number and refunded to my credit card as soon as possible. I also request an explanation regarding the communication failure I experienced during this process.
