Asus TUF Gaming A15 Power Button Stops Working From a Chronic Design Flaw
Chronic Asus Laptop Power Button Failure: In June 2024, I purchased an Asus TUF Gaming A15 FA507NU laptop from Vatan Bilgisayar in Izmir. I used the device primarily for graphic design work, and used it quite rarely and carefully at that. Despite this, while the warranty period was still active, the power button started intermittently failing to register presses; this problem, which has grown increasingly frequent over about a year, has now progressed to the point where the device won't turn on at all and has become completely unusable.
Based on research I did on forums, I want to note that many Asus users have experienced this same issue, which gave me the impression that the problem has essentially become a chronic manufacturing defect. Having a computer that I saved up for years to buy develop such a fundamental hardware failure in such a short time has seriously shaken my trust in the Asus brand. Having previously heard about similar disappointments on the phone side, encountering the same situation now on the computer side has upset me a great deal, and I no longer want to recommend Asus to anyone around me who's considering buying a computer.
I believe this power button failure — which began during the warranty period and later progressed to a point that completely prevents use — stems not from user error but from a chronic manufacturing defect. I am requesting that my device's power button failure be repaired free of charge, including both parts and labor, and that I be given a clear and transparent explanation regarding this chronic issue.
