Allergies and skin sensitivities may cause skin irritation when using wearable devices like the Apple Watch. Those with skin sensitivities must take extra precautions when wearing the Apple Watch. Wearing the Apple Watch too tightly can aggravate skin irritation. Jewelry, watches, and other wearables that touch the skin may cause skin reactions in some people. Allergies, environmental factors, prolonged soap and sweat exposure, and other factors may cause such reactions. Allowing your skin to breathe by removing the Apple Watch periodically reduces skin irritation. Skin issues can be reduced by keeping the Apple Watch and wristband clean and dry. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if you experience redness, swelling, itching, or other irritation or discomfort on your skin around or beneath the Apple Watch. Using the device after symptoms have subsided may cause skin irritation to return.
